One of the much-anticipated projects, the Navi Mumbai Airport, is expected to take off flights by next year, which is to promote aerial connectivity in the megalopolis, which was bridled for years due to the current Airport facing capacity concerns. As per the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, the Planes are expected to be operational and start taking off from the Navi Mumbai Airport in August 2024. This multi-modal Airport is estimated to accommodate about 90 million passengers in 2030 while seamlessly being connected to sundry transportation systems, including the coastal road, the metro, and the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link.

This long-awaited and multifaceted Project has had its fair share of setbacks in the process of Airport construction in Latur and Nanded due to the assigned company delaying the necessary payments, which further resulted in halting the construction. As stated by Fadnavis, the payment-associated concerns will be addressed with the involvement of the Advocate General’s opinions on the matter and has also assured of going forward with the construction. Fadnavis further divulged the plans to establish a consecrated authority for seamless airport management.
