भारत को स्वतंत्रता15अगस्त1947 को मिल गई थी लेकिन राजस्थान का इसके मौजूदा स्वरूप में गठन 30 मार्च 1949को जाकर हुआ। इससे पहले राजस्थान 19 रियासतों और 3 चीफशिप में बंटा हुआ था।तब इसे राजपूताना के नाम से जाना जाता था। संविधान लागू होने के बाद इसका नामकरणराजस्थान किया गया।
